Clarke & Clarke Fabrics

As the end of year is nigh, I have been establishing more fabric partners and I am extremely proud to say that I am now working with Clarke & Clarke fabrics. If you are thinking about freshening up your home interior, then may I suggest that you consider incorporating some of the Clarke & Clarke designs. They have a wonderful range of beautiful fabrics, that work in any room around your house.

Clarke & Clarke Fabrics

We have seen the cool Scandi look sweep across homes in the UK this year, yet Clarke & Clarke fabrics are renowned for their beautiful flowered prints, this creates more depth and adds variety into your home, to  make it visually interesting.

As well as using Clarke & Clarke fabrics for your blinds or curtains, I also recommend Clarke & Clarke fabric cushions on a lovely grey plain sofa to add a vibrant feel. This is a cost effective way to change the layout and feel to any room, without dating your room with a floral wall paper design.

Clarke & Clarke fabrics have recently partnered with Oasis Home, as we see more and more fashion retailers, like H&M and Zara broaden their product portfolios to home fashions.

Clarke & Clarke fabrics new collection still incorporates floral inspiration, though I was excited to see some more bolder designs such as Allure with their boho bright fabrics and their more cooler gentler collections such as Hudson, Spectrum and Tussah & Seda. As you can imagine this is inspiring me and I cannot wait to start working with these new fabrics.

Clarke & Clarke fabrics is an 18 year old company based in Lancashire, founded in 1999 and is an established leader globally in home furnishings. Clarke & Clarke is made up of two separate product brands, Clarke & Clarke which is the traditional floral design and also Studio G which has its own style of exciting and lively designs that appeals more to the fashion conscience consumer.

Vanessa turned to screen-printing fabrics when the necessary arose due to lack of funds in converting a former cow byre into a beautiful country home. Many have fallen in love with the soft, pastel colour palettes and easy country living look.

Vanessa Arbuthnott is an inspiration for many working mums such as myself. She started her business on her kitchen table while her four children were young. She found the time to work in the evenings designing and printing fabrics.

Her business has grown from strength to strength and her fabrics have appeared in many lifestyle magazines and its not a surprise to see why. Inspired by the Cotswolds in the beautiful British countryside, her signature look is a contemporary version of country living.

At Sophie Sews we love to support British companies and Vanessa Arbuthnott is no exception. Designed and produced in the UK, the designer fabrics are printed on pure linen or 100% cotton. The company goes further with their ambitions by offering co-ordinating wallpaper, rugs and furniture.

Vanessa calls the below portfolio image the ‘Birds & Beasts’ living room. A change from the signature looks of country pastels, this shows some of the darker colour palettes that the company offers. But still with the country-theme running through the fabrics with cute birds and animals.

Roald Dahl Ashley Wilde Playroom

One of my favourite fabric collections for children’s rooms has to be the Roald Dahl Fantabulous fabrics collection. It’s a really fun fabric collection showing off Quentin Blake’s illustrations that any child would love. With last year celebrating the 100 year anniversary since the birth of Roald Dahl, there couldn’t be a better way to honour your love of Dahl’s characters.

There are a range of fabrics, each depicting different Roald Dahl characters, you are sure to find your favourite character to bring some nostalgia into your home.

I used the Matilda fabric for my own children’s playroom for the curtains, pelmet and floor cushions and they absolutely love it.

I love this collection for bringing a sense of freshness and fun into a room.
