ILIV Fabrics

The one thing that I absolutely love about my job is that I get to connect with so many wonderful fabric designers, one in particular for this month is ILIV fabrics. They provide the Hygge factor with their warming and soothing designs, fit for any room in the house, you would be proud to have guests around, just so they can swoon around the home.

ILIV Fabrics

I am excited to announce that these are now part of my stockist portfolio, so able to supply to all you lovely ILIV fabrics advocates and what is totally brilliant, they have just released their new designs, so these are must to have incorporated in your home, especially for the new year, which is just around the corner.

As always I like to talk you through all my clients designs and provide some inspirations to my readers, so first of all I need to tell you about Catalina. It was the first design in their new collection that definitely caught my eye and got my creative interior mind thinking. With four designs in this collection you will want to incorporate these beautiful fabrics into your home for spring 2018.

However, it isn’t always about homes, you can incorporate the ILIV fabrics into offices, restaurants, hotels, any type of business to help provide employees or customers that welcoming feel of being somewhere that feels nice to be in. Two in particular have caught my eye in this range.

  • Andora Fabric – The print is leaves and comes in 4 refreshing colours, Seafoam, Cinnamon, Cornflower and Iris, the warmness of the Cinnamon would be great in a living room or bedroom and the coolness of the Seafoam would be ideal in a summer house by the sea.
  • Avila Fabric – again comes in Cinnamon, Cornflower and Iris but the one that I totally love is the multi-colour of the leaves and floral prints, the colours are gorgeous and intriguing.

The other collection that I really love is the Sketchbook collection, these designs are particularly good for cottages, B&Bs & hotels, giving the rooms that farmyard / country feel… imagine waking up and looking out of a window overlooking a lake or a beautiful landscape out in the sticks, it really will give your visitors that homely welcoming feeling.

The Wildrose collection in particular, is gorgeous and I love the fabrics that can be used for cushions to give that comfy homemade feel. I cannot wait to start using this collection on new customers in the new year.

Vanessa turned to screen-printing fabrics when the necessary arose due to lack of funds in converting a former cow byre into a beautiful country home. Many have fallen in love with the soft, pastel colour palettes and easy country living look.

Vanessa Arbuthnott is an inspiration for many working mums such as myself. She started her business on her kitchen table while her four children were young. She found the time to work in the evenings designing and printing fabrics.

Her business has grown from strength to strength and her fabrics have appeared in many lifestyle magazines and its not a surprise to see why. Inspired by the Cotswolds in the beautiful British countryside, her signature look is a contemporary version of country living.

At Sophie Sews we love to support British companies and Vanessa Arbuthnott is no exception. Designed and produced in the UK, the designer fabrics are printed on pure linen or 100% cotton. The company goes further with their ambitions by offering co-ordinating wallpaper, rugs and furniture.

Vanessa calls the below portfolio image the ‘Birds & Beasts’ living room. A change from the signature looks of country pastels, this shows some of the darker colour palettes that the company offers. But still with the country-theme running through the fabrics with cute birds and animals.
